Freunde der LSE e.V.

The Association

Lord_DahrendorfThe German Friends of LSE association (officially "Verein der Freunde der London School of Economics and Political Science e.V.") was founded in 1984 on an intiative led by then (German-British) LSE director Lord Ralf Dahrendorf (* 1 May 1929; † 17 June 2009). The German Friends of LSE are the offficial LSE alumni association in Germany and organise approximately 400 alumni.

We aim to keep the contact alive between alumni of the London School of Economics as well as to German students currently at LSE by regular lectures, academic and cultural events. We also promote the live long learning and networking.

Most of our activities are organized by the five regional groups located in major German cities. Each regional group is lead by one or two regional coordinators, who regularly organize events and are also the first points of contact for members and people interested in our activites in the respective region. We are also regularly meeting with other alumni associations (both non-LSE and LSE) and organize an annual meeting including our annual general meeting.
