About the event
Dear alumni, dear friends,
The Neues Museum in Berlin was rebuilt from its ruins from 1999 to 2009 by star architect David Chipperfield, who masterfully combined old remaining structures with new elements. It is part of the Museum Island complex, and as such inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1999 because of its outstanding architecture and testimony to the evolution of museums as a cultural phenomenon.
We cordially invite you to join us for a guided, architectural tour in English exploring the special quality of the building, which lies in the combination of historical elements and modern design language, on Saturday, 6 September 2025, at 4 pm, followed by a networking Stammtisch at the restaurant „Zur Gerichtslaube“ in the nearby Nikolaiviertel at 5.30 pm.
We will meet at Foyer of the James Simon Galerie, Bodestraße 1-3, 10178 Berlin, at 3.45 pm, 15 min ahead of the tour to allow time…
