LSE Alumni Sailing & Networking Weekend at lake Tegernsee

Dear Alumni, dear Friends,

We cordially invite you and your partner to the LSE Alumni Sailing & Networking Weekend at lake Tegernsee from 15 to 16 July 2023. Located in the Bavarian Prealps south of Munich, Tegernsee is known as one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in Bavaria.

On Saturday afternoon, we will enjoy sailing on the lake on Daysailer Yachts. Each boat will be accompanied by an experienced skipper who will introduce us to the basics of sailing so that everybody can be actively involved. No prior sailing experience is required to join. In the evening, we will enjoy a networking barbeque dinner at Hotel Terrassenhof.

On Sunday, we will go to the Wallberg, offering a fantastic view on the Tegernsee and Prealps region where we will also enjoy lunch.

Excursion to the Wallberg famous for its view on Tegernsee   and its region. The tickets for the Wallbergbahn need to be purchased   individually as participants who wish to take the Wallbergbahn can benefit from   Tegernsee tourist card discounts.

BOOKING INFORMATION

1. Sailing Event

We have reserved four “Daysailer” yachts for 5 participants each. An experienced, local skipper on each boat will introduce his crew to the basics of sailing (e.g., turn, keep the course, jibe) so that everybody can be actively involved. We will finish the afternoon with a little sailing race back to the harbour. Weather permitting, we can also swim in the lake. Sailors and non-sailors are welcome to join as no prior sailing experience is required.

Please wear casual and shoes with white/light soles without a profile such as sport shoes (i.e. no black rubber treads) on the boat, bring a swimming suit, rainwear and/or warm cloths so you are prepared for all weather conditions and do not forget your sun glasses and sun cream. Life vests will be provided. The price of 140€ includes the hiring fee for the boat, one experienced skipper per boat, life jackets for each participant and soft drinks while sailing.

2. Networking Barbeque Dinner at Hotel Terrassenhof

The cost of the BBQ-dinner is 25€ for members of the German Friends of LSE and 50€ for all other participants. Accompanying drinks are not included in the price of the barbeque and need to be paid individually.

3. Accommodation & Travel

Please arrange travel and accommodation individually. We recommend having a look at www.tegernsee.com or hotel search engines. If you plan to take the train (arrival station: Tegernsee), we recommend looking up suitable connections at Deutsche Bahn’s website. The train from Munich central station takes ~1 hour.

RESERVATION & PAYMENT INFORMATION

Please register by Thursday, 6 July 2022 by completing the online registration form and paying your participation fee. You can either pay via direct debit (“Lastschriftmandat”) or by Paypal to paypal.me/GermanFriendsofLSE. Please state Tegernsee 2023 and your name as reference.
