Reacp: Bi-annual meeting of the world-wide LSE alumni leaders

The bi-annual meeting of the world-wide LSE alumni leaders took place in London on the first weekend of September, with Pia Wagner, Manuel Geggus, Till Tömmel, Gerd Müller-Brockhausen and Lukcas Dörfner representing the German alumni association (pictured above together with LSE director Dame Minouche Shafik). Major focus of the meeting was exchanging best practices and ideas with fellow alumni leaders and LSE Advancement team both in structured workshops as well as informally throughout the two days. The discussions triggered some potential joint events, so stay tuned for 2018.

It was a great honor that Dame Minouche Shafik, the new LSE director opened the alumni leadership forum on her first day of office. Both her vision and view on higher education and LSE’s future were very well received.

Dame Minouche also honored outgoing alumni volunteers for their services with the Outstanding LSE Alumni Volunteer Award. The former President of the German Friends of LSE Margitta Wülker-Mirbach received the award for her dedication and commitment throughout the 20 years of her presidency from 1996 to 2016.

Last not least, the new executive committee was presented at the meeting: Patrick Mears continues to serve as Chairman and our president Pia Wagner was elected as Vice Chair of the Regional Liaison Committee.
